Consider the following standards:

Standard C:The online teacher plans, designs, and incorporates strategies to encourage active learning, application, interaction, participation, and collaboration in the online environment.

Standard D:The online teacher promotes student success through clear expectations, prompt responses, and regular feedback.

Standard E: The online teacher models, guides, and encourages legal, ethical, and safe behavior related to technology use.

Standard J: The online teacher interacts in a professional, effective manner with colleagues, parents, and other members of the community to support students’ success.

Standard K: The online teacher arranges media and content to help students and teachers transfer knowledge most effectively in the online environment.

Answer in a complete paragraph response: How has the Communicate module prepared you to meet each standard listed above? Link to or provide specific examples from your work in Communicate. What strategies will you take away from the Communicate module and apply to your teaching?  What lessons were most beneficial for you?

The communicate module has prepared me for five of the standards of online learning. It has taught me many ways to connect with students and teach online. I have learned to make a newsletter  to communicate and learned to conduct discussions  which engage students  and keep them motivated.  Standard D says that the online teacher promotes student success through clear expectations, prompt responses and regular feedback.  I was able to learn how to give feedback, not only written but digital and how to make rubrics for students to have a guide.  Here are the links to digital feedback and rubrics . I was able to appreciate the legal and ethical responsibilities of Standard E by completing the lesson on laws.  I learned about the stakeholders of an online learning and how we all work together for student success. This goes along with standard J.  This is a link to the lesson about stakeholders.  The online teacher uses media and content to help students and teachers transfer knowledge. I explored this when learning about the synchronous sessions and differentiation feedback.  I was able to create many artifacts and practice the skill of communication.  I feel the most beneficial lessons for me were on laws and synchronous sessions.  I have to follow communication laws and be an example for my students. The lesson outline for the synchronous learning session made me really get a feel for how I would teach. I plan to use many of the strategies to teach online.  I especially like using newsletters, and discussions.
