Ensuring digital safety and security is important when working in a digital learning community. We have to keep in mind and teach that the information we post is permeant. We have to teach students that when they visit different sites on the web, they leave a digital footprint. It is also a good idea to keep parents involved and aware of what sites students are required to visit. Below is a power point presentation on safety and security to remind students of what to do. On the forefront we can teach students about the potential danger of talking with strangers online, and protecting personal information. We can present examples of good use and bad use and have open discussions about each. The power point can be used as an engagement tool start the discussion on digital safety and security. This can be implemented in a learning environment for students to view and then write out answers to a discussion. It can also be used as a reference for students to refer back to when needed.
